Case Study: Malaysia Protection Gap Study for the Malaysia Takaful Association

In this project we performed a protection gap study. The three key components considered in the study were:

  1. The estimated protection gap in Malaysia, by market segments
  2. Key reasons underlying the protection gap
  3. Potential strategies to minimise the protection gap.
Actuarial Partners conducted all aspects of the process including the data collection, analysis and preparation of the report.  The key findings and results were presented to the industry.

Case Study: Mortality Studies of Malaysian Assured Lives from 2011 to 2015 for the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM)

We analyzed the mortality experience for the LIAM members during the years 2011 to 2015. The objective of the study was to analyse the change in mortality experience since the previous mortality study and to compare the 2011 – 2015 experience with the past published mortality tables. The outcome of the report includes construction of new mortality table which is now known as Malaysian Ordinary Lives 2011 – 2015 or “M1115”. This table is widely used by the insurance and takaful industry in Malaysia for insurance pricing and reserving.
